Theodore Osuala M.D.

I am Dr. Theodore Osuala, a seasoned and dedicated psychiatrist who has been passionate about mental health since 1996. My career began in family medicine, where I had the opportunity to treat patients with a wide array of health issues. However, I soon discovered that a particular group of individuals required deeper, more specialized care, which inspired me to transition into the field of psychiatry.

I honed my skills and knowledge during my psychiatry training at the University of Texas in Houston, where I gained invaluable experience in understanding the intricacies of mental health. I completed my training at the University of Maryland in Baltimore, where I was exposed to a diverse range of psychiatric disorders. Subsequently, I pursued a fellowship in geriatric psychiatry, where I focused on the unique challenges of dementia and psychosomatic illnesses affecting our elderly population.

After finishing my fellowship, I became part of the University of Maryland School of Medicine as a faculty member and Clinical Assistant Professor. In this role, I worked in Psychiatric Emergency Services, where I faced fast-paced, high-pressure situations, helping individuals with acute and complex mental health crises. Each interaction reinforced my commitment to providing compassionate care and support to those in need.
